MADRID - Portero both Atletico Madrid, Sergio Asenjo hoping his club can not recruit another goalie if David de Gea certainly move to Manchester United.
Asenjo wants to prove himself again at the club that he can be trusted to be the main goalkeeper for the Los Colchoneros next season. According to him, he and Joel Robles could be a doorstop if last Atletico de Gea leave the Vicente Calderon.
Asenjo true nominated goalkeeper who is expected to replace the role of Leonardo Franco and Gregory Coupet. Asenjo was recruited in 2009 for 5 million euros, but a series of blunders and mistakes kept him warm the bench. Even Asenjo had last season on loan at Malaga.
Now he has returned to Atletico and hope to prove his ability in Atletico return. Asenjo also hope de Gea can play better in the UK later.
"I think Joel Robles and I are the two goalkeepers in the main kuad, if there is another goalkeeper who comes, will certainly be a tough rival," said Asenjo as review from Eurosport.com.es on Thursday (23/06/2011).
"If De Gea official to United, I'm sure he'll show his best," said Asenjo.
