Mugello - host rider, Marco Simoncelli became the fastest in practice sessions ahead of the series inaugural Mugello. San Carlo Honda Gresini rider is at the forefront once able to finish one round with a time of 1 minute 48.987 seconds.
The times are only 0040 seconds adrift of the top standings while nicks, Casey Stoner, who had to settle for second place in the first practice session this afternoon, as review from Autosport on Friday (07/01/2011)
While the third position, again occupied Honda Rider, Andrea Dovizioso with a record time of 1 minute 49.088 seconds and followed by Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo who had to settle for being the fourth in succession and Colin Edwards.
Tandem Lorenzo the winner in Assen last weekend, Ben Spies finishing in the back of Lorenzo, was fifth.
Meanwhile, Dani Pedrosa, who recently returned from absent in the three previous series could only finish seventh, and the idol of the Italian fans, Valentino Rossi could only complete the first training session in 13th position after only incised record 1 minute 50.780 seconds.
